Recently while travelling Mr. Abrahao received an email from Air Canada congratulating him on having flown One Million Miles with them.
He waited the whole flight for them to mention it, and alas he waited in vain. “What did you expect?” I asked.
“An announcement or something!!”
He has for many reasons reached his Million Miles. Business trips. International trips home between Brazil and Canada. Not to mention the couple hundred thousand miles flying between doctors. And then there was the time he flew all around the world to come and get me. Yes. A Million Miles. Must seem like two!
“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.” – Mark Jenkins
Every airport we land in, he knows about. Every airplane we get in he’s researched. Every single time we pass a runway he wants me to take a picture of the plane. He has recordings of all of our take offs and landings.
He had amazing stories about travel. I know that if I asked him to fly anywhere with me tomorrow he would. Forget about anything else, he’s my million miles man!
So now the question is, where to next? Where would you go, without limitations?
But honestly there is a part of me that says: I love you, honey, but lets stay home.
For a month or two…
